I am very saddened by Michael’s passing, but I know he struggled for several years with his cancer. I went to school in Jackson with Mike. He was always a kind and fun person. In the past few years, we connected more because our belief systems and were supportive of each other. Mike had a kindness and caring for my cousins, whom he knew. Mike had a heart, a good heart, full of compassion and caring. He was kind and giving. May he rest in peace on the other side and enjoy his renewed soul/body. Will see you there one day.

I always remember Mike for that warm smile and positive spirit. He was always my catcher when I pitched for little league baseball in Jackson. And nobody could have asked for better support than Mike gave. Over the years the phone would ring and out of the blue it would be Mike. He loved to talk about the old days in Jackson and our shared years as kids. He always had good thoughts and words for everyone. Even with a gentle spirit, he was such a fighter, particularly through his health struggles. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. Deb, my deepest sympathies to you. Mike (and Deb) and I shared an interest in the MN LYNX and we connected at a couple of the games. Mike would call out of the blue to talk about growing up in Jackson. I regret the loss of yet another classmate. RIP my friend.

Mike was a fighter for several years and went through so much, yet he always was positive when we talked. We would reminisce about school days, friends and his playing basketball in our backyard. I will miss his phone calls, his optimism and his dogged perseverance. My condolences to Deb and his family. He was a sweet, gentle, caring person. ??

Sadly Mike and I are not going to be able to get together for a cocktail and listen to Steve Poynter this summer.t We had talked of that a couple months ago. We had a great time 2 years ago in Stillwater. In our high school days stopping a his grandma’s to change clothes to go to a dance. Him saying as long as I look good when I leave that’s what counts. Plan on being there on Saturday.

If all humans had the heart and soul of Michael what a wonderful world this would be. The only one of my brother (Darry’s) contemporaries to attend Jackson wrestling hall of fame induction. Liked everything about this man. Rest In Peace Mike. When you get to heaven may all the flowers be in perpetual bloom.
