Rest in peace, Milon. You were a wonderful godfather who always made me feel special and loved. Your visits to Minnesota from New York were a highlight of my younger years. I loved your story telling and watching as you and my aunts and uncles gathered round folding tables to play cards, laugh -just be a big, wonderful family. Blessed be your memory.
Kelly Schulte-Smith says
May you find peace in the everlasting, You had a big heart, a great smile and a wonderful father. You had a magnetic personality and a great way with young kids. Some of the things I remember fondly were going fishing, ice skating, going to the movies, showing me how to shoot. Taking us to the city for a police function. There was a police and firemen event at Lido beach, we were there all day, we had so much fun.
It was just yesterday in my mind that we would visit your family in Minnesota. I loved being able to spend time with you and meeting all my Aunts and Uncles during the summer, I remember getting up in the morning coming down to what I thought would be breakfast and everyone saying that it was dinner as they had been up since at least 5 taking care of the farm animals. I loved visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Schulte. Grandpa was so much fun, he would teach us about all the farm equipment and what to pay attention to while around the farm animals. He would also juggle raw eggs just to make Grandma crazy. Some of the best times I remember was going to a barn wedding and dancing with Grandpa. I am glad you were part of my life. I wish I had more time with you, I will see you again, Rest In Peace. Love you Dad.

Uncle Milon, You never lost the twinkle in your eye or the ability to tell a story like no one else could. We enjoyed our visits with you. You always knew who I was. One of my fondest memories lately was the Schulte reunion, you were determined not to go and I just kept going and said “if you change your mind once we get there I will bring you back!” The smiles that day being surrounded by your family and seeing all your brothers and sisters and many loved ones. You didn’t want to leave! You were so wonderful with Dad and kept watch over him when we were gone and for that I am forever grateful. Our grandchildren loved to visit Uncle Milon, you always had a story to tell them. RIP you will be missed. RIP.
