Minh Phung, age 103, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe.
Private Funeral Service will be held. Interment will be held at a later date in Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Obituary
Minh Nguyet Phung was born on January 25, 1920, in North Vietnam. She received her education in North Vietnam at a French School run by her brother.
Minh was united in marriage to Chu Quang Phuong. They moved to South Vietnam when the communists took over North Vietnam in 1954. In 1956, her husband passed away, leaving her with a step-son and a 7 year-old daughter. In 1975, Minh traveled to the United States when Saigon fell. She was sponsored by Roger and Cheryl Olstad, who were members of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Minh was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Pastor David Natwick at Christ the King Lutheran Church. She became a United States citizen on December 15, 1982.
Minh started working as a cleaning lady for many families in Hutchinson. She also worked at Green Giant, Hutchinson Leader, and Christ the King Lutheran Church. Minh delivered meals to residents at Park Towers.
Minh passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, at the age of 103 years.

Minh is survived by her sister, four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many friends from the Hutchinson community.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter.
