Obituary
Monica M. Schuette was born on September 7, 1957, in Arlington, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Willmer and Mavis (Sprengeler) Schuette. Monica was baptized as an infant in the fall of 1957 and later confirmed in her faith as a youth in the spring of 1972 by Pastor Bert Klienn at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato, Minnesota. She received her education in Glencoe, Minnesota, and graduated with the Glencoe High School class of 1976.
Monica was first employed at Rosemount Engineering. This is where she met Robert “Bob” Mannie. Bob and Monica started dating in 1986. The couple spent 40 years together and made their home in Jordan, Minnesota. Monica began working at Starkey Labs in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, as a hearing aid technician in 1987. She worked there until 2017, retiring after working there for 30 years.
Monica and Bob had similar interests, which included camping, fishing, hunting (archery), and going 4-wheeling in northern Minnesota, along with trips to the sand dunes in Oklahoma and Idaho. They looked forward to these adventures and sharing them with family and friends. They both enjoyed Astronomy, stargazing, meteor showers, and viewing the lunar and solar eclipses. In 1991, they made a trip to Hawaii with Willmer and Mavis to see the total eclipse of the sun.
In years past, Monica enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. She loved creating flower arrangements and sharing them with family and friends. Monica took great pleasure in designing her own jewelry, particularly rings. She would select unique stones, draw up placement diagrams, and create one-of-a-kind castings. Monica was an avid agate hunter, locally and in northern Minnesota. She found a number of great specimens over the years. Monica looked forward to playing cards with family and friends. Faith was very important to Monica, and she read the Bible regularly.
Monica passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at her home in Jordan, Minnesota, at the age of 68 years, 4 months, and 18 days. Blessed be her memory.
