Obituary
Morris Oscar Kronlokken was born on August 24, 1924, on a farm in Ericson Township, Renville County, near Sacred Heart, Minnesota. He was the son of Oscar and Mary (Collin) Kronlokken. Morris was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart. He grew up working on his family's farm, attending school and graduating from Sacred Heart High School.
Following graduation from High School, Morris was employed with the Dodge Plymouth Car and International Harvestor Equipment Dealer, first working with inventory and pricing, and then as a mechanic in the garage. From 1948 to 1970, Morris also farmed. Telephone service at that time was farmer-owned, and Morris took care of the rural phone lines in his area. As the years passed, Morris became good at troubleshooting and maintaining service for the phone lines, and he eventually became a troubleshooter for the entire system. In 1968, he worked with the REA project of converting those phone lines to all new underground lines. The. phones were converted to the dial system, and Morris became the manager of the Sacred Heart Telephone Company. In 1971, Morris changed employment, working with a cable plowing company in Clara City installing cable and phone lines throughout Minnesota. He then hired on with Continental Telephone Company, working in the Kandiyohi, Blomkest, Svea area for two years.
Morris then moved to Willmar and was employed with the Holiday Inn for two years. He became the maintenance technician at the Kandi Mall for the next two years. In 1976, Morris came to Hector for employment with Best Manufacturing and Welding. He was able to experience Best Manufacturing become Falcon Industries. Morris retired after 20 years of work there, but he returned to help out on occasion.
On June 5, 1948, Morris was united in marriage to Gleva "Bing" Binger in Sacred Heart. They were blessed with three children, Linda, Pam, and Wade. Their marriage was dissolved. Morris learned welding at a young age from his uncle who worked as a blacksmith. He was very mechanically inclined and considered himself very fortunate to be successful in each work endeavor. Morris also enjoyed woodworking. He was part owner of an airplane and had his pilot's license. Morris was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Hector. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Renville County Historical Society Museum.

Morie was a good friend helping my dad on the farm with planting and harvesting. He also worked for me part time at Hector Ag Supply for many years after he retired. He was a good man; always had a smile!

Connie Newberg says
Morrie was always so great to sit down and have a cup of coffee with. He really helped and encouraged me in my pursuit of the history of Hector’s Municipal Airport. He had quite an aviation story himself!
