Service Information
Myron Schroeder, age 98, of Fairfax passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, at South View Living Center in Gibbon.
Memorial Service will be Thursday, April 4, 2024, 11:00 A.M. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax with interment in the church cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the service, ALL at church.
Obituary
Myron Harris Schroeder was born on November 23, 1925, in Wellington Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of Max and Hulda (Dallmann) Schroeder. Myron was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at St John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax. He received his education St. John Parochial School in Fairfax.
On September 24, 1949, Myron was united in marriage to Vivian Peterson. They were blessed with one daughter, Rhonda. Myron tiled and farmed his entire life, retiring in 1999. Myron and Vivian shared 74 years of marriage.
Myron was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax. He served on the church council for more than 50 years, as head usher, trustee, elder and president. Myron was on the elevator board for many years and on the golf board serving as president and treasurer.
Myron loved to golf, play cards, fishing, hunting, and camping. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
When he needed assistance with his care, Myron became a resident of South View Living Center in Gibbon and passed away there on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the age of 98 years. Blessed be his memory.
Myron is survived by his:
Wife, Vivian Schroeder of Fairfax, MN;
Daughter, Rhonda Buboltz and her husband, Gary of Fairfax, MN;
Grandsons, Nathan Buboltz and his wife, Tara, Keith Buboltz and his wife, Erin, and Adam Buboltz and his special friend, Catlin Ziesmer;
6 Great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Jackson, Dylan and Levi, Nolan and Collins;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Myron was preceded in death by his Parents, Max and Hulda Schroeder; Brother, Elmer and Viola Schroeder and his second wife, LaVerna Schroeder; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorna and Tom Mickelson, Leora and Howard Peterson and Millie and Jim Clark; Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Doris and Fred Hatten, and Arlys and Jerome Palmer.

To family, So many thoughts go through our minds at times as this. Neil so often spoke of Myron. All good times.His family was part of Neils growing up days My sympathy to each of you. I too lost Neil in 2023. But what a good life we all had. Living to be 98 years is quite a gift.
