Nancy Laffen, age 61, of Olivia formerly Hector, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020, at the Olivia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Olivia, Minnesota.
Graveside Service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020, at 1:00 P.M., at the Hector City Cemetery in Hector.
Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are recommended.
Obituary
Nancy Marie Laffen was born on November 15, 1958, in Olivia, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Wesley B. and Laverne (Pahlman) Laffen. Nancy was baptized as an infant at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Osceola Township, rural Hector, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector. She received her education in Hector and was a graduate of the Hector High School Class of 1977.
Nancy lived in Osceola Township, rural Hector until 1975 when she moved into the town of Hector. She lived with her brother Dennis her entire life until moving to the Olivia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on June 11, 2020. She was employed at Jacoby Drug Inc., in Hector. She then began working in-home care at the Prairie View Apartments in Hector until she started in housekeeping at the Olivia Hospital.
Nancy was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector.
Nancy enjoyed gardening, bird watching, sewing, crafting, holiday decorations, and reading. She also enjoyed going on drives with her brother, Dennis. Nancy was a loving caregiver for her parents and brother and cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
When Nancy needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at Olivia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Olivia, Minnesota on June 11, 2020. She passed away there on Monday, July 6, 2020, at the age of 61 years.

Aunt, Bernice Maahs;
Many other relatives and friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her Parents, Wesley and Laverne Laffen; Aunts, Laura Bach, Violet Schiro, Ruth Bahr, and Luciel Dallmann; and Uncles, Harvey Bach, Ervin Bahr, Erdman Maahs, Ed Schiro, and Gene Dallmann.
