Norbert Knott, age 97, of New Germany, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at The Estates At Delano in Delano, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 11:00 A.M at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Minnesota with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Norbert Joseph Knott was born on January 2,1924, in Carver County, Minnesota. He was the son of Christ and Martha (Sterner) Knott. Norbert was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Minnesota. He received his education in Waconia graduating with the Waconia High School Class of 1943. Norbert served his country in the United States Army.
On June 5,1954, Norbert was united in marriage to Orlyn Alice Jorgensen at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple resided in New Germany. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Judy, Debbie, Randy, Jackie. Norbert and Orlyn celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 1979, later that year, Orlyn passed away.
Norbert was 100% German and was raised speaking both English and German. He was a devoted catholic and was born and raised on the family farm. Norbert always had a huge garden and everyone was amazed at all of the canning of vegetables and assorted jelly’s he preserved right up until is 90th birthday. He even had a green thumb with all his flourishing houseplants. Norbert took pride in making the tallest angel food cake around. He loved to fish, hunt, play cards, and visit with people, he always had a story to tell. In later years, he also enjoyed traveling and going to various casinos. He had a passion for life and nothing could ever slow him down. Norbert was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
Norbert became a resident of The Estates at Delano in Delano and passed away there on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the age of 97 years.

Many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Norbert is preceded in death by his Parents, Christ and Martha Knott; Wife, Orlyn Knott; Daughter, Jacquelyn Marie Knott Butcher; Siblings, Mary and Frank Richter, Odella and Francis Radtke, Esther Knott, Albert and Mary Kay Knott, Leander Knott, Lawrence Knott; and longtime friend, Theresa Clausen.
