Norman Martin Henry Grack

Obituary

Norman Martin Henry Grack was born on December 20, 1938, in New Auburn, Minnesota. He was the son of Henry and Frances (Becker) Grack. Norman was baptized as an infant on January 8, 1939,  at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn by Pastor Hans Werner, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 6, 1952, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe by Pastor A.H. Fellwock. He received his education at District 37 Country School for six years and then attended First Evangelical Lutheran School in Glencoe.

On September 11, 1959, Norman was united in marriage to Arlyce Wroge at First Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor H.A. Bode in Glencoe. After their marriage, the couple farmed in rural Glencoe. Norman and Arlyce were blessed with four children, Kevin, Diana, Bryan, and Michael. Norman was also employed at Lester’s Builders for 12 years, had a milk route for five years, drove bus for 27 years, was a custodian for First Lutheran School in Glencoe and First Congregational Church in Glencoe, worked at Seneca and numerous roofing and construction jobs over the years. He retired in the fall of 2016. Norman and Arlyce shared 64 years of marriage.

Norman was a lifelong member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.

Norman enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, playing cards, and listening to old-time music. He also enjoyed being outside, especially tending to his garden. Norman cherished the time he spent with his family, his wife, and especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Norman passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at GlenFields Living With Care in Glencoe at the age of 84 years. Blessed be his memory.

Great-grandchildren, Chase Staley, Alexander Rogers Jr., Adelaide Rogers, Morgan Hertog, Baby Hertog due in October, Baby Rogers due in February;
Brothers, Willard Grack of Glencoe, MN, and LaVern Grack and his wife, Dorothy of Brownton, MN;
Daughter-in-law, Sharon Krueger of Hutchinson, MN;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Norman was preceded in death by his Parents, Henry and Frances Grack; Son, Kevin Grack; Siblings, Halbert (Edna) Grack, Esther (Gerhard) Henke, Dorothy (Wilfred) Grochow, Melvin (Dorothy) Grack, Leona (Leonard) Pagel; Sister-in-law, Elaine Grack.
