Orville L. Riege

Obituary

Orville Leroy Riege was born on November 27, 1943, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was the son of Armand and Stella (Pike) Riege. He was raised by Leslie and Stella Clement. Orville was baptized as an adult by Pastor Manley Swarthout at Calvary Wesleyan Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He attended country school in Rochester, Minnesota until the 10th Grade.

On July 15, 1975, Orville was united in marriage to Joyce Abrahamson at Calvary Wesleyan Church in Hutchinson. They were the first couple to ever be married at the church. This marriage was blessed with seven children, Gene, Bill, Linda, Sue, Kimberly, Judy, and Jodi. Orville and Joyce resided in Clarissa, Minnesota, and later moved to Cosmos. Orville and Joyce shared 46 happy years of marriage.

Orville was a self-employed truck driver and spent 8 years hauling cattle with Joyce for their company, O&J Trucking. Orville was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church.

Orville enjoyed driving and fixing semi’s and helping family members work on various mechanical projects. He and Joyce were always busy raising German Shepard dogs along with Appaloosa and Quarter Horses. He always had a very strong faith in God. Orville especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Orville passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, at St. Cloud Hospital, at the age of 77 years.

Orville is preceded in death by his Parents, Leslie and Stella Clement; Father, Armand Riege; Brother, Mylan Riege; Nephew, Daniel Luttchens; Son-in-Law, Shawn Sagdalen; and great-granddaughter Ella.
