Service Information

Patricia A. Mashuga, age 94, of Glencoe formerly of Brownton passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in  Brownton, Minnesota, with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Brownton.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 9:30 A.M.-11:00 A.M., ALL at the church.

Obituary

Patricia Ann Mashuga was born on December 1, 1930, in Duluth, Minnesota. She was adopted as an infant by Joseph and Anna Penkusky. Patricia was baptized as an infant on December 21, 1930, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Duluth and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Mountain Iron and was a graduate of the Mountain Iron High School Class of 1948. Patricia furthered her education at a Business School in Virginia, Minnesota. She resided on the Iron Range until 1967.

On May 8, 1970, Patricia was united in marriage to Steve Mashuga in Brookings, South Dakota. After their marriage, the couple resided in St. Peter and 1971 moved to Brownton when they purchased the gas station. She was employed as a bookkeeper, a homemaker, worked at 3M, helped run a gas station, and then Telex for 20 years. Patricia and Steve shared 33 years of marriage when he passed away on October 7, 2003.

Patricia was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton.

Patricia enjoyed gardening and plants, polka dancing, volunteering, fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. She helped her dad trap up north when she was younger. Patricia loved spending time with her family and friends and adored her grandchildren.

In 2021, she moved to Orchard Estates and then to GlenFields Living With Care and passed away there on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the age of 94 years. Blessed be her memory.

Patricia is survived by her:
Sons, Lawrence Mashuga and his wife, Elisabeth of Gibbon, MN, and John Kaukola of Hutchinson, MN;
Grandchildren, Michael Kaukola and his significant other, Leslie Plombon, Lawrence Mashuga Jr., Catherine Lemmon and her husband, Logan, Stephanie Mashuga;
Other relatives and friends.

Patricia was preceded in death by her Parents, Joseph and Anna Penkusky; Husband, Steve Mashuga; Son, William John in infancy; Granddaughter, Jessica Kaukola; Daughter-in-law, Arlene Kaukola.
