Obituary

Paul Edgar Plieseis, age 54, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Paul, lovingly known as “Paulie,” was born in Glencoe, Minnesota, one of five children born to Viola Jean and Jerry Vaugn Plieseis. He was baptized as an infant at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. Shortly after, his family relocated to Marcell, Minnesota, where he attended school in the Deer River Public School District.

From a young age, Paul had a strong work ethic. He was employed at Maguire Paving and, most recently, at KMAC Inc. in Hutchinson. Paul took great pride in his workmanship and cherished his coworkers.

In December 2021, Paulie was diagnosed with stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue and throat. After undergoing weeks of treatment and months of recovery, he was able to beat cancer. However, the battle left lasting effects, leading him to an early retirement.

Though his life was cut short, Paulie lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed kicking back with a cold beer, tinkering with lawnmowers and cars—even if he ended up with a few extra bolts afterward—fishing, sharing wild stories, and spending hours watching “The Price Is Right”. His love for classic cars was undeniable, but above all, he treasured time spent with family, whether up North at the family cabin or close to home.

Paulie was a son, brother, husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend whose humor, and resilience will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Paul is survived by his:
Wife, Kathleen;
Son, Troy (Amanda);
Stepchildren, Michael (BreAnn),
Samantha (Ryan);
7 Grandchildren, Kaden, Addy, Hadley, Chloe, Jaxton, Carson, and Colton;
Former Wife, Donna Teicher;
Siblings, Jerry, Larry, Jean Marie (Mitzy);
Nieces and Nephews, Logan, Garren, Melinda, Matt, and Christina;
Many other relatives and friends.

Paul is preceded in death by his Parents, Jerry and Viola; Brother, Dale; Aunt Ehtel and Uncle Fil Robinson; Cousin, Adam Copeland; Beloved Dog, Baxter.
