Obituary

Pearl Sophie Streu was born on November 22, 1922, at home in Transit Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Adolph and Clara (Volinkaty) Zarnott. Pearl was baptized as an infant on December 10, 1922, at her home by Pastor Gust Mueller, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 31, 1936, by Pastor Wm. Ulrich at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. She received her education through the 8th Grade at the Country School in Transit Township.

On September 9, 1942, Pearl was united in marriage to Raymond Streu by Pastor G. Mathiae at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. After their marriage, the couple resided in Glencoe. This union was blessed with two sons, Thomas and Ronald. Pearl was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Pearl and Raymond shared 56 years of marriage when Raymond passed away on June 30, 1999.

Pearl was a long-time member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.

Pearl enjoyed traveling, going on camping trips, fishing, and boating. She enjoyed playing Bingo, playing Sheepshead, and crafting. For many years, Pearl and Raymond were grateful to be fortunate enough to take in and care for a number of foster children. Pearl truly cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

When she needed assistance with her care, Pearl became a resident of GlenFields Living With Care in Glencoe and passed away there on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the age of 101 years. Blessed be her memory.
