Service Information
Ramona H. Karg, age 95, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at her home in Hutchinson.
Memorial Service will be Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held half an hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
Obituary
Ramona “Mona” Helen Karg was born on August 10, 1930, in Brownton, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Edward and Esther (Arnold) Zieman. Mona was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. She received her education in Brownton.
Ramona was united in marriage to Dwaine Gieseke. They made their home in Brownton prior to moving to Lyons, Illinois. They eventually returned to Minnesota, first to Brownton and then settled in Hutchinson. Sadly, Dwaine passed away in 1962.
On December 16, 1966, Mona was united in marriage to Wayne Karg at the Codington County Courthouse in Watertown, South Dakota. They made their home in Hutchinson, Minnesota, and shared 59 years of marriage.
Mona was employed in the retail industry working for various companies, such as Walmart, S&H, Kmart, JCPenney, and Chapman’s Grocery Store. She retired in 1995. Mona was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Mona found joy in camping, and fishing in every season, from summer days on the water to ice fishing in winter. She loved polka music, card games, and was an avid reader. Mona had a special love for her pets. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family, grandson, and friends.
Mona passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at her home in Hutchinson, at the age of 95 years.

Husband, Wayne Karg of Hutchinson, MN;
Son, Douglas Gieseke and his wife, Lucia, of Kiowa, CO;
Daughter, Michele Sondergaard and her husband, Ron, of Hutchinson, MN;
Grandson, Cody Sondergaard and his wife, Maggie, of Shakopee, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Mona is preceded in death by her Parents, Edward and Esther Zieman; First Husband, Dwaine Gieseke; Daughter, Nancy Haith; Grandson, Jason Haith; Sisters, Evangeline (Rufus) Klitzke; and Myrna (LeRoy) Klitzke.

Mona was the strongest person I ever knew in my life for all she endured, yet she kept moving forward in her own journey through life and also was strong enough to fight her health battles and made it to 95 years old.
