Raymond “Ray” Paul Swanson

Obituary

Raymond Paul Swanson was born on May 29, 1937, in Cosmos Township, Meeker County, Minnesota.  He was the son of Edwin B. and Mildred (Berlin) Swanson.  Raymond was baptized as an infant on June 10, 1937, at his parent’s home in Cosmos Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth at First Lutheran Church in Cosmos, Minnesota.  Raymond received his education in Litchfield, Minnesota. 

In March of 1978, Raymond was united in marriage to Donna Esther (Zabel) Dolezal.  Raymond and Donna made their home in Lester Prairie, Minnesota.  Raymond and Donna shared over 42 years of marriage. 

Raymond was a farmer.  He also worked at Hutchinson Manufacturing in Hutchison, Minnesota, as a sandblaster.  You would find Raymond cutting lawns in his spare time.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Winsted, Minnesota.

Raymond enjoyed lawn mowing, camping, visiting and talking with people.  He treasured the time spent with his family and friends.

Raymond passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at The Gardens at Winsted in Winsted, Minnesota, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 8 days.

Raymond is preceded in death by his Parents, Edwin and Mildred Swanson; Step Mother, Elsie Swanson; Brothers, Edwin Swanson, Donald Swanson and his wife, Lynnette; Brothers-In-Law, David Rahn, Darrel Kaping.
