Obituary

Rebecca Rosezel Bain was born on November 27, 1942, in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Leonard and Rebecca (Shores) Bain. She was baptized as an adult on November 19, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, Minnesota. She received her education at Cambridge State Hospital.

Becky was employed as a Nurses Aid at Cosmos Nursing Home until her retirement in 2003.

She enjoyed cross-stitching, shopping, fishing, going out to eat, and spending time with her family and friends. Becky enjoyed taking pictures and sharing them with others. She loved people giving them a big hello and often a huge hug. Becky enjoyed her ice cream, collecting bears, embroidering, and bowling. She took great pride in making quilts for lots of people. She was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos.

Becky lived independently at Cherrywood Apartments in Cosmos until 2015 and then moved to Gloria Dei in Litchfield. She continued to visit Cosmos as often as she could and especially enjoyed assisting the Peace Lutheran Quilters by threading needles with yarn and having coffee. When Becky needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at Meeker Manor Rehabilitation in Litchfield on December 11, 2021. Becky passed away there on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the age of 78 years. Blessed be her memory.

I started working with Becky when I was 15 years old, in 1970, and continued to work with her throughout my time in high school and college, about 7 years. I loved working with her, as she was so friendly and patient with everyone! I hadn’t seen her for about 35 years, but I had the opportunity to go to a luncheon at Peace Lutheran in Cosmos a few years ago. I was amazed that she recognized me immediately, and had a wonderful hug for me. She invited me to come see her apartment following the luncheon, and I had a lovely visit with her. I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to do that. She was a special person to all of us who had the chance to work with her, and also to everyone who knew her from the community. Deepest sympathy to all of you in her family, and to those of you who are close friends. She was a gem! Cindy Janke Schuth

I LOVED visiting with Becky and getting my daily hugs. She would follow me into the Emmaus Beauty Shop every a.m. just to visit and tell me where she was going that day. Very inspirational .
    Blessed Be Her Memory
