Richard Gorr, age 75, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, rural Glencoe, Minnesota.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Friday, October 19, 2018, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, rural Glencoe, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Saturday.

Obituary

Richard Donald Gorr was born on December 4, 1942, in Gaylord, Minnesota. He was the son of Alex and Sophie (Martin) Gorr. Richard was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on July 7, 1957, by Rev. Kuehner at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop, Minnesota. His confirmation verse was Psalm 27:1. Richard received his education thru the 8th grade in Winthrop, Minnesota.

On November 23, 1968, Richard was united in marriage to Betty Breitkreutz by Rev. Walter Oelhafen at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop, Minnesota. Richard and Betty made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Jason and Nate. Richard and Betty shared almost 50 years of marriage.

Richard worked for Green Giant in Glencoe, Minnesota, as a maintenance man. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.

Richard was the baby of his family. He was very creative and a jokester. God and family were very important to him. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing (including trips to Alaska, Canada, and out West), drinking Pepsi, dogs and attending his children’s events. He treasured the time spent with his family and friends.

Richard passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 9 days.

Wife, Betty Gorr of Glencoe, MN;
Sons, Jason Gorr and his wife, Stacey, of Breezy Point, MN,
Nate Gorr and his wife, Jill Maresh, of Edina, MN;
Grandchildren, Maddux Gorr, Easton Gorr, Avery Gorr, Addison Gorr;
Brothers-In-Law & Sisters-In-Law, Carol Gorr,
William Breitkreutz and his wife, Jerilyn,
James Breitkreutz,
Connie Stevens,
Judy Peik and her husband, Keith,
Jerry Breitkreutz,
Lori Washburn and her husband, Dennis;
Nephews, Nieces, Other relatives and many friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his Parents, Alex and Sophie Gorr; Siblings, Fred, Marie, Rudy, Gottlieb, Elsie, Harvey, Dorothy, Shirley, Deloris, Ernie, Betty; Sisters-In-Law, Alice Smith, Linda Sauter.

    Words fail at a time like this. We loved Rich and you all so much. Yoy all are more like family. I’m just so glad the boys all got to visit with him when he was alert.
