Robert “Bob” Wendolek

Obituary

Robert “Bob” Charles Wendolek was born on August 8, 1953, in Glencoe, Minnesota.  He was the son of John and Arlene (Jilek) Wendolek. Bob was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at St. Adalbert Catholic Church (now Holy Family) in Silver Lake, Minnesota.  He received his education in Silver Lake and was a graduate of the Glencoe-Silver Lake High School Class of 1971. Bob furthered his education at Hutchinson Community College (now Ridgewater College) and received his welding certification.  He then attended Willmar Community College (now Ridgewater College) and received his plumbing certification.

On August 26, 1977, Bob was united in marriage to Linda Hutchins in Buffalo, Minnesota.  This marriage was blessed with three boys, Jacob, Joe and Jesse.  Bob and Linda resided in Stewart, and Silver Lake, Minnesota, until they moved to Hutchinson in 1997.  They shared 38 years of marriage.

Bob owned and operated B. W. Welding Inc. in Hutchinson.  He was a lifetime member of Gopher Campfire Club in Hutchinson.  He was also a member and President of the Isle Flying Club and was one of the founding members of the Polish Playboys Polka Band.

Bob enjoyed flying his plane, riding motorcycle, fishing, hunting and going to auctions.  He loved to spend time at his place on Mille Lacs Lake. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family.

When Bob needed assistance with his daily care, he became a resident of the Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, Minnesota on July 22, 2016.  He passed away there on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at the age of 63 years.  

He will be missed.
