Obituary

Ronald “Ron” Herbert Unglaub was born on July 28, 1945, at home in New Germany, Minnesota. He was the son of Howard and Gerda (Mielke) Unglaub. Ron was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith both at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Germany, Minnesota. Ron received his education in Young America and graduated with the Waconia High School class of 1963.

On November 29, 1968, Ron was united in marriage to Judith Streich at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Ron and Judi made their home in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Michelle, Paul, and Melissa. Ron and Judi shared 53 years of marriage.

Ron entered active military service in the United States Army on July 27, 1964, from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He served as an armor intel specialist and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Ron received an Honorable Discharge on July 12, 1967.

Ron was a quiet man, a caring man, and a sensitive man. He greatly cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren; it meant the absolute world. Ron worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for a number of years, never hauling out of state because it was important to him that he was home every night with his family. Ron retired from trucking, but still enjoyed driving, so he began working for Trailblazer Transit. He grew wonderful bonds and friendships with the people he transported. During Ron’s downtime, he loved reading mystery novels, and getting lost in the shelves of books at the public library, he also enjoyed watching sports.

Ron passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at his home in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, at the age of 76 years. Blessed be his memory.

Ron is survived by his:
Wife, Judith Unglaub of Lester Prairie, MN;

    Our hearts go out to the Unglaub family. We were neighbors to Judi and Ron approximately 10 years when they lived on 2nd Avenue. We had a great neighborhood, get togethers, coffee time, when one mowed lawn, the whole neighborhood did to keep our lawns neat and trim. Everyone knew each other. Great times together belonging to Jaycees. Prayers go out to Judi and the whole family. Our door is always open to you. God Bless You!
