Rosella Benson, age 81, of Stewart, wife of Richard Benson, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 1:00 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, with interment in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton.
Obituary
Rosella Annabelle Benson was born April 13, 1935, in Penn Township, McLeod County, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry F. and Helena (Boelter) Streich. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart, and was confirmed in her faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. Rosella grew up in Penn Township, and attended school in Brownton. Following her graduation from the Brownton High School, she studied at the University of Minnesota for one year.
On June 12, 1954, Rosella was united in marriage to Richard Benson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. They made their home in Collins Township, and were blessed with six children.
Rosella was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. She served many years as a release time teacher. Her faith was of the utmost importance to her.
Rosella enjoyed the active farm life, self-sacrificing wholeheartedly by helping whenever and wherever she was needed. She put her family first, and she loved her role as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. Gardening, baking, and cooking were a natural part of her life that she truly enjoyed.
On Wednesday morning, April 27, 2016, Rosella passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital, having reached the age of 81 years. Blessed be her memory.

Doyle Benson and his wife, Tonya, of Stewart;
15 Grandchildren;
7 Great-grandchildren;
Brothers: Jerome Streich and his wife, Marge, of Brainerd,
Darroll Streich and his wife, Marlene, of Stewart;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Rosella was preceded in death by her Parents, Henry F. and Helena Streich.
