Roy H. Schuette

Obituary

Roy Herman Schuette was born on May 27, 1930, in Norwood, Minnesota. He was the son of Ernest and Mary (Peters) Schuette. Roy was baptized as an infant on June 8, 1930, and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 2, 1944, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. His confirmation verse was Revelation 3:20. He received his education at Emanuel Lutheran School through the 8^th Grade.

On January 16, 1952, Roy enlisted with the United States Army. He served as a Pvt-2(T). He was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the Korean Service Ribbon with Bronze Service Stars. He received an Honorable Discharge on December 24, 1953.

On September 13, 1958, Roy was united in marriage to Mary Ann Wentzloff by Rev. Reuben Youngdahl at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Roy and Mary Ann made their home in Hamburg, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Kathy, Dave, and Gary. Roy and Mary Ann shared 58 years of marriage when Mary Ann passed away on August 1, 2017.

Roy was employed at Wm. Mueller & Sons in Hamburg for 40+ years, and retired in 1991. Not one to sit still, he started trucking and plowing snow during the winter months. Roy drove his semi until he was 92 years old. Roy loved to travel with his family, going on 3–4-week road trips around the western United States: visiting Montana, California, Oregon, Washington, etc. He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends, and caring for his Dog, Skip, and his cats.

Roy passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at his home in Hamburg, at the age of 95 years and 6 months. Blessed be his memory.

Step Grandson, Torrey Matthews, and his girlfriend, Ella Johnson;
Step Great-Granddaughters, Julia and Danielle;
Sister, Stella Sarvela, and her husband, Warren;
Sister-in-law, Carol Schuette;
Other Relatives and Friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his Father and Mother,  Ernest and Mary Schuette; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Herbert and Edna Wentzlaff; Siblings, Helen (Karl) Bartels, Elmer Schuette, and Viola (Eugene) Tempe.
