Ruth Ann Lange, age 77, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in her sleep from natural causes on Friday, November 13, 2020, at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Private Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, rural Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment in the church cemetery.
The service will be livestreamed on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. on the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Facebook page.
For Ruth’s friends at Grand Meadows Senior Living, a private memorial service will take place at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations which will then be directed in appreciation of the compassionate staff at Grand Meadows.
Obituary
Ruth Ann (Ehrke) Lange was born on September 24, 1943, in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Maynard and Rosella (Gebhardt) Ehrke. Ruth was baptized as an infant on October 17, 1943, by Rev. A.F. Vomhof and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 25, 1956, by Rev. Wm. L. Erb both at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Her confirmation verse was Revelations 3:11. Ruth received her education in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, graduating with the Lester Prairie High School Class of 1960.
On June 27, 1964, Ruth was united in marriage to Leonard Lange by Rev. Wolfgang M. Webern at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Ruth and Leonard made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters, Amy, Lory and Beth. Ruth and Leonard shared over 56 years of marriage.
Ruth worked as a Deputy City Clerk for the City of Glencoe for 25 years, retiring in 2005. She was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, rural Glencoe. As her ministry to the church, she proudly served in the church choir and on the Ladies Aid holding the positions of President, Secretary & Treasurer. Ruth also was the secretary for the Business & Professional Women and Vice President for the Glencoe Historic Preservation Society.
Ruth enjoyed gardening and staying active. Most days, you could find her tending to her flowers and going for walks. Family was very important to her, and she treasured the time spent with them. She enjoyed playing games and shared many laughs with her children and grandchildren. Ruth loved connecting with people at Grand Meadows, Glen Fields, and anywhere she went. She enjoyed music, playing Bingo, and other social activities that brought people together. She cherished time with family and friends, reminiscing about the special times they had spent together.
Ruth passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020, at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 20 days.

Ruth was preceded in death by her Parents, Maynard and Rosella Ehrke; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Arnold and Esther Lange; Brother-In-Law, Melvin Jungclaus; Sister-In-Laws, JoAnn Lilienthal and Evonne Mueller.

We are so sorry to hear about your loss. Ruth was such a joy to talk with at Grand Meadows, she went out of her way to say hi and greet you with a big smile. The last time I was at Grand Meadows I had just stepped in the front door and she yelled hi from the 2nd level, just an awesome lady who will be missed.
