Service Information
Ruth M. Luthens, age 94, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Graveside Service will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11:00 A.M., at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Cedar Mills, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 10:30-11:00 A.M., thirty minutes prior to the Graveside Service at the cemetery.
Obituary
Ruth Martha Luthens was born on May 9, 1929, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Archie and Emma (Schultz) Beckstrand. Ruth was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Acoma Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. She received her education through the eighth grade.
On June 12, 1949, Ruth was united in marriage to Arvid Luthens at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Acoma Township. This marriage was blessed with five children, Pete, Julie, JoAnn, Roxann, and Deb. Ruth and Arvid resided in Cosmos, MN and later made their home in Harmony River, Hutchinson, MN. They shared 71 years of marriage until Arvid passed away on December 4, 2020.
Ruth enjoyed staying home with her children and watching them grow up. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills, Minnesota. Ruth also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and going South for the winter. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Ruth passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, at the age of 94 years.

Ruth is preceded in death by her Parents, Archie and Emma Beckstrand; Husband, Arvid Luthens; Son, Pete Luthens; Siblings, Dorothy Hoff, Wally Beckstand.
