Ruth Margaret Kloth

Obituary

Ruth Margaret (Bohlmann) Kloth was born on December 3, 1924, in McLeod County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Henry and Hilda (ZumBerge) Bohlmann.  Ruth was baptized as an infant on December 21, 1924, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 10, 1938, both by Rev. Bouman at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota.  She received her education in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Central High School Class of 1942.

On November 20, 1943, Ruth was united in marriage to Kenneth Herbert Kloth by Rev. Wohlfeil at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. Ruth and Kenneth made their home on a farm east of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, later moving to Young America area.  Their marriage was blessed with four children, Richard, Robert, Karen and Karla.  Ruth and Kenneth shared over 34 years of marriage, until Kenneth passed away on April 5, 1978. 

In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Ruth worked on the farm with Kenneth. After the tornado in 1965, Ruth worked at Tonka Toys for 20 years, Pro-Tech in Waconia and Norwesco in Belle Plaine.  She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, where she served on the Ladies Aid and attended bible studies.

Ruth loved quilting with the Ladies Aid at church, playing 500, dancing, watching movies and eating popcorn. She cherished the time spent visiting with her family and friends.

Ruth passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at her home at The Harbor in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, at the age of 91 years and 27 days.

Ruth is preceded in death by her Parents, Henry and Hilda Bohlmann; Husband, Kenneth Kloth; Infant Daughter, Karla Jean Kloth; Sister, Phyllis Skiff.
