Ruth Wandrie, age 93, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016, 11:00 A.M., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the Glencoe City Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016, from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M., 1½ hours prior the service at the church.
Obituary
Ruth “Pinky” Lydia (Bentz) Wandrie was born to Paul and Lydia (Biermann) Bentz on May 31, 1922, in Moltke Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. She was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Moltke Township, Minnesota. Ruth attended parochial school through the 8th grade. In 1940, she graduated from Gibbon High School in Gibbon, Minnesota. Ruth furthered her education by attending the University of Minnesota, St. Andrew’s Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1943.
On August 17, 1946, Ruth was united in marriage to Hillard Wandrie by Rev. Alf. R. Streufert at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. Ruth and Hillard made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Michael, Thomas and Douglas. Ruth and Hillard shared 45 years of marriage until Hillard entered eternal rest on August 26, 1991.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Ruth worked in various hospital departments, clinics and doctor’s offices. The Wandrie’s were charter members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, where Ruth taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir.
Ruth enjoyed traveling, square dancing, playing bridge, gardening, refinishing furniture, knitting, embroidering and volunteering at Glencoe Regional Health Services. She cherished the time spent with friends and family and most of all her grandchildren.
Ruth passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 21 days. Blessed be her memory.

Sons, Michael Wandrie of Hutchinson, MN,
Thomas Wandrie and his wife, Diane, of Gilbert, AZ,
Douglas Wandrie and his wife, Donelle, of Chaska, MN;
4 Grandchildren, Leah Wandrie, Jacob Wandrie, Luke Wandrie, Martyne Wandrie;
Sister, Verna Gruenhagen Stark of Dassel, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives and many friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her Parents, Paul and Lydia Bentz; Husband, Hillard Wandrie; Sister, Elva Dreier.
