Sandra Boyum, age 71, of Fairfax passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at the Assembly of God Church in Redwood Falls. Interment will be in Palmyra Covenant Cemetery, Palmyra Township, Renville County, Minnesota.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 24, 2018, from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
Obituary
Sandra Kay Boyum was born on January 8, 1947, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Clark and Clara (Schultz) Burdick. Sandra attended Redwood Falls High School.
On April 2, 1966, Sandra was united in marriage to Larry Boyum at the Assembly of God Church in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple resided in rural Fairfax for three and a half years, then rural Franklin and most recently rural Fairfax. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Sandra helped her husband on the farm and also worked at Control Data in Redwood Falls for a year and a half. Sandra and Larry were blessed with 51 years of marriage and five children.
Sandra was a member of the Redwood Falls Assembly of God Church.
Sandra enjoyed gardening and canning, sewing, fishing, and crocheting. She was a great cook and baker. Sandra cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Sandra passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park at the age of 71 years.

Husband, Larry Boyum of Fairfax, MN;
Children, Dwayne Boyum and his wife, Wendy of Glencoe, MN,
Mindy Boyum of New Haven, CT, and
Dawn Walberg and her husband, Trevor of Franklin, MN;
Grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, and Gregory Boyum; Xander Augustin, and Jonny Boyum;
Twin Sister, Sharon Smith and her husband, Stanley of Murdock, MN;
Brother, Gordon Burdick and his wife, Verlynn of North Redwood, MN;
Sisters-In-Law, Jean Burdick of Redwood Falls, MN, and Mavis “Micky” Burdick of Redwood Falls, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her Parents, Clark and Clara Burdick; Children, Wendy Boyum and Darrin Boyum; Siblings, Ruby (Leonard) Rettig, Alice (“Red”) Johnson, Marfred “Chub” Burdick, Harl Burdick, Donald Burdick, Maynard Burdick.
We are thankful to have shared life with this wonderful woman who loved the Lord and lived to serve Him all the days of her life. Blessed be her memory.
