Obituary
Sara Hall Katzenmeyer was born on August 3, 1952, in Madison, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Neil and Jeanette (Hall) Woodington. Sara was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Anoka, Minnesota and was a graduate with the Anoka High School class of 1970. She furthered her education at the Control Data Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota, specializing in data entry classes.
Sara started her career in a management position with Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machines. She was relocated to South Africa, where she spent 7 years. Sara gave birth to her son, Neil Allen Bridgeford, in South Africa. He was the first sparkle in her life.
After Sara returned to the United States, she lived several years in Arizona. The second sparkle in her life was born, Jordan Nicole Goldman.
Sara had an extremely successful life in sales. Sara moved with her family to Denver, Colorado where she resided for 27 years. Her favorite sales position was selling advertising with Valpak in Denver.
She reunited with her high school sweetheart, Mark Katzenmeyer. On July 5, 2014, they were united in marriage. Sara loved living in Denver with Mark, her children, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Sara and Mark relocated to Brownton, Minnesota, when their health began to decline. Mark was a devoted husband, and when Sara was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, he was by her side each and every day. In 2019, when Sara needed assistance with her care, she became a resident at Shade Tree Retirement Center in Brownton. During her stay at the Shade Tree Retirement Center, Sara touched the lives of the residents and employees; she received wonderful care.
Sara’s niece, Courtney, gave a great description of who Sara was. She said, “I am grateful for my Auntie Sara! Funny, enthusiastic, charismatic, kind, loving, full of life and love.” Sara had a love of music and enjoyed singing in her band “Jazz Feather”. We will always have great memories of the lives she touched in her life. Sara gave a gift of donation by donating her body to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
