Obituary

Scott Alan Falkman was born on Mother’s Day, May 10, 1964.  He was the son of Elaine Falkman and Leigh Falkman. Scott spent his early years in Crystal, and Minneapolis, Minnesota. He moved to Hutchinson over 20 years ago and loved living there; the feel of small town living really appealed to him.

From a very young age, Scott found his love of electronics and music.  He was the one neighbors and family would call if they were having problems with their equipment.  He worked in that field and it was truly his passion.  Scott loved music and to him; it could really only be appreciated by listening to vinyl records on vintage equipment with quality headphones.  That was his favorite thing to do.

Scott passed away suddenly at his residence in Hutchinson, Minnesota at the age of 53 and his death was discovered on what would have been his 54th birthday.

Scott is survived by his:
Mother, Elaine Falkman of Sun City, AZ;
Father, Leigh Falkman of Minnesota and Arizona;
Sisters, Stephanie Getty, Shelley Falkman, and Jennifer (Colin) Grangaard;
Brother, Dan (Brandi) Falkman;
Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Scott requested there be no service in his memory.  His ashes will be with his mother in Arizona and at a later date, some of Scott’s ashes will be spread in the Woman Lake area in northern Minnesota; a favorite childhood place that Scott loved.

A special thank you to Kory Heller and Wanda Rath, you both meant a lot to Scott.

    In memory of my big brother, it brings a smile to my face to think of the laughs we had, listening to music and the funny George Carlin album, whipping donuts in the Fair School parking lot, watching him tinker with stereo equipment in amazement at his ability to deal with all of the components and wires as he fixed things for people, being up at Woman Lake, and for him being good to my three boys, his nephews; Greyson, Garrett and Gerod.
    Every time I listen to “Let It Go”, I will think of him, his strength, and finding contentment out in Hutchinson, with his music and some good friends.
    I am glad that he is at peace, joined with other loved ones who have already passed, and that he is pain free and happy.
    Love,
    Stephanie

    Scott, may you Rest In Peace and eternal happiness. May you be surrounded by your beloved music. You will be missed brother. My kids may not all have gotten to meet you, but you knew of them and their silly antics. As they get older, they will get to know their Uncle Scott through pictures and memories. They will be taught the importance of “Let It Go”. You are free of pain. You will not be forgotten.
    Love,
    Shelley, Kayleigh, Katie, Makayla, Annabel, Lijah, Emmet and Briella

    Hey Brother!

    I know we didn’t talk much over the years. When we did get together, we always had a good time catching up. I’m remembering all the good times we had as kids. You’re the one who introduced me to Star Wars when you took me to go see Return of the Jedi in the Theaters. When we got back home, we reenacted the epic light saber battles with wrapping paper rolls, lol… I’ll be forever grateful for that and our time together. Rest in Peace brother!

    Love ya,

    Dan and Family!

    I am shocked. I don’t live in Hutchinson an longer and had no idea that he had passed away! I was a pastor in Hutch for 10 years and got to know him well. Scott and I got to be good friends. We both loved music and all the gear that goes with it. Scott rebuilt an old tube amp that my father built. I still use it in my sound system today and think about him a lot. I had been trying to get in touch with him for sometime…and stumbled across his obit on the internet. So sad. I will miss our talks and all his advice and help. He always asked about my daughters – particularly two who have rheumatoid arthritis. He lived with pain and was always interested in how they were feeling. I am saddened by this news. Blessings to all his family.
