Scott received his education in Menomonie, Wisconsin, graduating with the Menomonie High School Class of 1979. Scott furthered his education by attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin, with a degree in Fashion Merchandising.
On September 16, 2015, Scott was united in marriage to Ronald W. Burandt Jr. in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scott and Ronald made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. They shared 20 years together.

Scott enjoyed traveling on cruises, he went on many travels to various cities in Mexico, with Playa Del Carmen being his favorite. Las Vegas was an annual staple for many years as he loved the lights and shows. Scott also loved finding and selling antiques for many years. Fishing along with bon fires and laughter at his beloved cabin up north with friends and family when he retired created forever memories, especially dancing on the pontoon. Sharon K. Becker says
Dear Ron and Family – We are so sorry for the loss of Scott. I find myself asking how can this be? Don’t we have some control over this? The questions don’t get answered and it becomes a time of surrender and vulnerability. Time to listen to our hearts and not try to rationalize or justify the why rather begin to accept the reality of his passing and grieve. Then, be grateful for his presence, love, and joy that we were so fortunate to experience during his time here on earth. Scott was a very special person in whatever role he played. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. It is the hope that tomorrow will bring the healing and resolution necessary to move forward in life. I know, I’ll pray and ask for God’s assistance in providing you the strength to endure the sorrow, grief, and pain and the patience, understanding, and trust the healing process will demand. God’s Blessings. Love You, Sharon, and Jon Becker

Thoughts and prayers for Scott’s family and friends. I went to high school with Scott in Menomonie and we hung out all the time together. He was the greatest. One of my fondest memories was when we talked him into giving blood for the blood drive at school. He was so nervous that he kept squeezing the ball and at such a fast pace that he passed out. He will be missed!
