Obituary

Sharon Ann (Zellmann) Kuntz was born on January 24, 1943, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Byron and Alice (Tonn) Zellmann. She was baptized on February 14, 1943, by Pastor Vomhof at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in her faith on April 14, 1957, by Pastor Vomhof at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Sharon received her education in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, graduating with the Lester Prairie High School Class of 1961.

On September 8, 1962, Sharon was united in marriage to Rodney Kuntz at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Sharon and Rodney made their home in New Germany and Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Their life was blessed with two daughters, Deborah and Patricia. Sharon and Rodney shared over 57 years of marriage.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, Sharon worked at Red Owl, Tonka Toys, Security Bank & Trust, Schwartz Manufacturing, Prairie Market, Porthole, Young America Corporation and Sam’s Club. Sharon was an active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. As her ministry to the church, she proudly taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir.

Sharon was a very happy person and enjoyed cooking, embroidering, reading, shopping and playing 500 for over 50 years with her card club. She was also a member of TOPS for many years. Sharon was a great cook but was especially famous for her Caramel Rice Krispy bars. She loved to visit and cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

Sharon passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 23 days.
