Service Information
Sharon L. Sustacek, age 81, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Haven Homes Senior Health in Maple Plain, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
Obituary
Sharon Lea Sustacek was born on July 3, 1943, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Rohland and Myrna (Rusch) Schultz. Sharon was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills, Minnesota. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1960.
On September 8, 1962, Sharon was united in marriage to Harvey “Skip” Sustacek at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills. This marriage was blessed with four children, Lori, Scott, Sherry and Steven. Skip and Sharon resided in Hutchinson and Darwin. They shared 61 years of marriage prior to the passing of Skip on March 12, 2024.
Sharon was employed at Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing (3M) in Hutchinson for a few years before joining the Special Education Department at Hutchinson Public Schools. She retired in 2000. Sharon was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She was also a member of the Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary and the Drift Riders.
Sharon enjoyed knitting, gardening and fishing off the dock on Lake Washington. She also liked watching the Minnesota Twins and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Sharon also enjoyed going on family trips and cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.
Sharon passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Haven Homes Senior Health and Living in Maple Plain, Minnesota, at the age of 81 years.

Sherry Anderly of Mound, MN,
Steven Sustacek and his wife, Katy of Carver, MN;
Grandchildren, Sam, Eli, and Louis Sustacek, Cole, Jake, and Tucker Anderly, Drew, Avery, and Luke Sustacek;
Sister, Sandra Wacker and her husband, Byron of Gull Lake, Nisswa, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Sharon is preceded in death by her Parents, Rohland and Myrna Schultz; Husband, Harvey “Skip” Sustacek; Daughter, Lori Sustacek; Father- and Mother-in-law, Harvey and Lucille Sustacek.
