Obituary

Thaddeus Rufus Ulam Samuel Theo Lorenz was born on August 24, 1993, in Jordan, Minnesota. He was the son of Duane and Catherine (Schroeder) Lorenz. Thaddeus was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth.

Thaddues was not only an amazing son and devoted brother but he was also a best friend. He was a best friend to every one of his siblings with unique and special relationships with each of them. He was a hard worker and enjoyed helping others. He was kind and gentle and full of life. There was not a time in his life when he saw someone, anyone in need and did not do everything in his power to help. He was a true knight in shining armor in many ways. He had his own way of connecting with people and making them feel heard and cared for. He was strong and imaginative and creative. He was goofy and intelligent and he was a loving and devoted uncle to all of his nieces and nephews.

He was a counselor, a brother, a friend, a rescuer and a good God-fearing man. He is survived by his Brothers: Daniel Lorenz of New Auburn,  Christian Lorenz, his wife Kylie and their children, Chloe , Abagail and Boaz.  Free Lorenz and his wife Allison and their children , Fawn and Sampson. And his sister Moriah Foesch and her husband Justin and their children Steel , Clark and Liberty. As well as his other cherished nieces and nephews.

He is, and will be, deeply missed.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:6

"The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it." Ecclesiastes 12:7

Thaddeus is preceded in death by his Parents, Duane and Catherine Lorenz.

Words cannot express the amount of love we have for you. Our hearts are broken…you are missed so much already. If you did not know Thad, he is the kindest most generous caring soul that ever walked this earth. His smile lit up a room and his laugh was contagious. There is no one that can take your place, you are irreplaceable. No one will ever be able to fill your shoes. Even though our hearts are completely shattered by the loss of one of the best, we hold on to all the memories that we are blessed to have. I hate going home and not seeing your car there…and knowing that we won’t ever get to see you again. It’s not fair. We miss hearing you come home bumping to whatever you were listening to on the radio that day. We are missing you so much and we won’t ever forget you. It’s not goodbye…it’s see you later. Uncle Thad, you made us all proud. We love you so very much. Forever in our hearts you will stay

Deepest sympathy to the family of Thad. Way too young to leave this earth.

I can’t believe this. Thad. I will never forget you. Ever. You taught me so much about life. You were always a man in a room full of boys. You always held your head high and stood up for what was right. I’ll never forget our political debates or our hour long intellectual conversations every evening and again in the morning where one of us was supposed to be clocked out but it just became our standard end of shift practice. You were fearless when you faced adversity and always had my back when I needed you at work. You were a therapist and life coach to me as I came back from the lowest point of my life. You gave me confidence. You put me in check. Your instincts to protect the people you cared about were one in a million. I would give anything to see you pull up and give me that nod and smirk again. OMG. The fun we could have had if you would have told me your full name. You KNOW I would have used it in it entirety every time 🙂 Thaddeus Rufus Ulam Samuel Theo Strong Wind Lorenz, you taught me how to “train horn.”

Chris, I have no words to express how much sympathy I have for you and your family.

Thads “big little sister” here. I’m so thankful to be reading this. I miss him so much and seeing others recall his memory with love makes my heart feel less alone.
