Remember Me by Margaret Mead
To the living, I am gone,
To the sorrowful, I will never return,
To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace,
And to the faithful, I have never left.
I cannot speak, but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea,
As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity,
Remember me.
Remember me in your heart:
Your thoughts, and your memories,
Of the times we loved,
The times we cried,
The times we fought,
The times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.

My deepest sympathies on the loss of Thelma. She was such a great lady and I enjoyed the times we had working together at Lester’s. Even after Lester’s I would catch up on what she was doing at the Taste of Hutchinson where she helped Jayne and Bob with their food wagon. She will be dearly missed by many. Blessing to the families.
Jayne Mlynar says
Thanks Alex. When she was no longer able to help po at the Taste, the first thing she would say when I saw was “did you see Alex?”

I will miss you, Thelma Lou. We had some great visits on my morning walks when you’d harass me as I passed. I always had to check if you were by your “Christmas ladder” (Oh, Christmas ladder, oh Christmas ladder…) on my way by. There will be an empty spot when I come to entertain at Grand Meadows. I’m so glad we had a minute when I was there in January.
Jayne Mlynar says
Chuck – thanks so much for all the times you made her laugh and smile just as you do for everyone. She really cherished your talent and friendship.
Amy Hafemann says
So sorry for your loss. Thelma was such a great person and a good friend to my mom for many years.
Jeanie Shrode says
Thank you Amy. Mom and Lil sure had lots of fun and laughs throughout the years.
Steve and Rita Wendlandt says
Our condolences to the family of Thelma, it’s a tough time when our parents pass. It’s been several years since my parents passing but it doesn’t feel that long ago. To Doug, if you remember me, we worked together briefly at “Hutchinson Industrial Corporation” in the seventies and at “Litchfield Precision” in the eighties…those were good years. Take care everyone, stay strong.
Nicki Mlynar says
I will miss Thelma greatly on our future visits to Grand Meadows; she always had a great wit about her and was alway happy and chatty. She always knew the latest political news and the gossip about what was going on at Buckingham Palace. Rest In Peace dear Thelma.
Jayne Mlynar says
Thanks Nicki. Mom loved your visits and I loved her phone calls saying “Nicki was here. It was do good to see her again and she brought me a treat”??

Mom was a humble, good-natured woman of strong faith. She loved to banter and tease in a loving way and it was easy to get a laugh out of her! She loved simple things. At home she loved to care for her flowers and birds, sit in her window chair and read her People magazine or devotional, listen to her favorite CDs or just enjoy a cup of coffee and pastry while looking out the window, sometimes waiting to “harass” passerby’s. On any given day she could be whipping up a batch of chocolate chip cookies. She loved to make her children’s or friends favorite dessert or food and was a great baker! She was always up for a game, or a hand of cards and even at 80 I remember her out in the yard playing ball with the kids! She was handy with a needle and I think everyone in the family has something she has knit, crocheted or embroidered. She should have had a share of Hallmark for all the cards she bought and sent! I remember my mom’s eyes lighting up whenever she saw a baby or child. She loved having the grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit! Mom had the eye of a hawk. She could be 10 feet away and see a speck in your eye! She was very observant and intuitive. I will miss her greatly but I am at peace knowing she is at home enjoying one of her favorite hymns- “In the Garden” with Jesus.

My sincere sympathy to all of you kids on the passing of your Mother. She was a good friend of mine. Thelma always had a smile and something nice and/or funny to say. Amazing she could maintain that demeanor with you guys around! I’ll always remember her !!

Sending prayers and sympathy to Thelma’s Family. If you knew Thelma, you had to love her because of the caring and sincerity she brought to you. Oh yes, as many others have said. . . she baked and kept our sweet tooth going at Lester’s. . .fun times we’re had with her! She was quite the crafter, got me into crocheting, needlepoint, embroidery and I spent many evenings going to Hutch for ceramics along with Diane Pawelk. She will always be remembered, what a special friend! God’s peace to you all!
