Obituary
Vera Leona (Rennecke) Wacker was born September 17, 1919, to parents, Emma (Bulau) and Otto Rennecke on the family farm in McLeod County. She was the third oldest of seven children. Vera was baptized as a baby on October 5, 1919, and confirmed in her youth on June 10, 1934, by Pastor Weerts at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. She attended District 78 Country School located on old Hwy 15 in McLeod County.
Vera met her future husband, Milo Ernest Wacker, at a dance at the Stewart City Hall. Vera and Milo were married April 15, 1937, and became lifelong partners until the death of Milo in January of 1997. Six children, Roger, Linnea, Audrey, Delano, Tyrone, and Jolene, were born to this union. Vera and Milo began their married life in the Fernando, Minnesota area. All six of their children were baptized in the Lutheran Church at Fernando. In the summer of 1950, they moved to Stewart, Minnesota. There, Vera joined the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was a member of that church the remaining years of her life. She and Milo resided in Stewart until 1972, when they relocated to Lake Marion. There they built a new home which was her pride and joy.
Vera was a lady of many talents. Many people were fortunate to have received one of her hand sewn quilts, handcrafted Christmas Ornaments, dolls, dresses, etc. (the list goes on). She worked at Green Giant for several summers, owned the Starlight Drive-In in Stewart, and ran the lunch counter at the Sales Barn in Stewart for several years. Vera especially enjoyed working at the Style Stable Dress Shop that was owned by her son, Roger. She assisted many brides in the purchase and alterations of their wedding dresses.
Recently, Vera moved to GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, Minnesota. It was there that she passed away at the age of 104 years and 5 months.
Blessed be the memory of Vera Wacker. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.

Vera is such a special person! I loved coming to know her and working with her at the Style Stable Dress Shop. She always had a ready smile and friendly word! I am sure that she is celebrating in heaven with Jesus and her reunion with other loved ones. I hope that comforts her whole family now, and you all look forward to being with her again in heaven.
