Vernon Hass, age 77, of Gaylord passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Bayside Manor in Gaylord.
Memorial Service will be Monday, November 10, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Monday, November 10, 2025, from 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M., (2 hours prior), ALL at church.
Obituary
Vernon August Hass was born on January 20, 1948, in Winthrop, Minnesota. He was the son of August and Sarvilla (Wachtel) Hass. Vernon was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith on April 15, 1962, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mountville, Dryden Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. His confirmation verse was Luke 11:28. He received his education at country school in rural Winthrop.
Vernon farmed near Winthrop and then moved into Gaylord. He loved to farm and raise hogs. Vernon enjoyed sitting on the shore with Delores and watching her fish. The best part about fishing, was the bullhead fry they had. He was kind and big hearted, had a great sense of humor and was a hard worker. Vernon helped many family members and helped out at the Thrift Store.
When he needed assistance with his care, Vernon became a resident of Bayside Manor in Gaylord and passed away there on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the age of 77 years. Blessed be his memory.
Vernon is survived by his:
Sister, Ruby Jaster of Gaylord, MN;
Nieces and nephews, Roger Jaster of Gaylord, MN, Linda Jaster of Winthrop, MN, Robert Jaster and his fiancé, Terry of Marshall, MN, and LaVern Jaster and his wife, Rachelle of Biscay, MN;
Great nieces and great nephews, Bristal Jaster and special friend, Justin, Dolan Jaster, Lian Jaster, Summer Jaster and Pamela Jaster;
Other relatives and friends.
Vernon was preceded in death by his Parents, August and Sarvilla Hass; Sister, Delores Kaufman.
