Service Information

Victor Kiecker, age 98, of Fairfax, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014, at the Fairfax Community Home.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township, rural Fairfax, with interment in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township, and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Obituary

Victor Emil Kiecker was born October 2, 1916, in Wellington Township, Renville County, Minnesota, the son of Anton and Sophie (Uetzmann) Kiecker.  He was baptized as an infant at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township, and confirmed there as a youth.  Victor attended Emanuel Lutheran School and DMLC High School in New Ulm, but was needed back home on the farm. 

On June 30, 1942, Victor was united in marriage to Edwina Polesky at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector.  They lived on the family farm in Wellington Township, and were blessed with three sons.  Victor and Edwina shared 58 years of marriage before Edwina passed away in 2000.  Victor then shared the companionship of Dee Grams, and they married on May 4, 2002 at Emanuel Lutheran Church.  They shared two years of marriage before Dee passed away in 2004.

Victor was a lifelong farmer.  He raised cattle and crops, and also had chickens.  He enjoyed going to town and selling eggs at Smokey Hollow.   Victor was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township.  He held various positions with the church, and had also served as a school board member for Emanuel Lutheran School.   He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, and stamp collecting.  He was an avid Vikings and Twins fan. 

Late Sunday morning, November 16, 2014, Victor passed away at the Fairfax Community Home, having reached the age of 98 years.  Blessed be his memory. 

Victor is survived by his:

children:  Ronald A. H. Kiecker and his wife Virginia “Ginger” of Gallatin, TN,
                Gerald M. W. Kiecker and his wife Lori of Augusta, KS, and
                Douglas A. Kiecker and his wife Barb of Fairfax, MN;

grandchildren:  Tamara Temple, Craig Kiecker, Christina Bialecki (Rob), Chad Kiecker, Angela Nelson, Kim Schroeder (Jim), Corey Kiecker, Jeremy Kiecker (Connie), Mitchell Kiecker;

great-grandchildren:  Christopher, Alexander, Christian, Julia, Bryan, Brandon, Nikki, Calista, Chloe, Wyatt, Brady, Hana, Hayden, Amelia;

great-great-grandson Andrew;

step-daughter Rebecca Schulzetenberg (Bill);

sisters-in-law: Lois Kiecker, Merlyn Kiecker;

brother-in-law and sisters-in-law:  Eddy and Dorothy Polesky, Vangie Madsen, Evie Drill, Mary Polesky;

nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Sophie Kiecker, first wife Edwina Kiecker, second wife Dee Grams, sisters: Adelia Black, Helena Freyholtz, Alice Rossow; brothers: Adolph, George, Edward, Hilmer, Harvey, and Laurence.
