Service Information
Violet “Vi” M. Johnson, age 79, of Darwin, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at her home.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin, with interment in the church cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Violet “Vi” Marie Johnson was born on November 6, 1944, in Litchfield, Minnesota, to Bessie (Sommerfeld) Riebe and Gottfred Nelson, and baptized on December 3, 1944, in the Lutheran Church. She was confirmed at All Saints Lutheran Church in 1958 and was a charter member. She grew up learning and playing the accordion. Violet graduated from Litchfield Senior High School in 1962.
After graduation she worked for Pillsbury in the Twin Cities. Later she started raising a family, farmed with her husband and loved raising horses and riding.
Violet was happiest living and working on the farm, gardening, canning, volunteering with 4H, and riding in parades. She volunteered as the Sunday School Superintendent for many years while her children were young. Violet worked part-time for Country Kitchen in Litchfield and served as the All Saints Lutheran Church secretary for many years.
Violet was preceded in death by her Parents; Sister, Alvina; Brother, Roy; Brothers-in-law, Marlow and Charlie; Sister-in-law, Pat.

Children, Kim (Erv) Asmus, Kristen (Brad) Rundquist, Richard (Cathy) Johnson, Roy Jr. (Tracy) Johnson, Linda Boothe, Mike (Valarie) Johnson;
Grandchildren, Hope (Travis), Matt (Elizabeth), Kendall (Logan), Riley, Ella, Autumn, Alex, Kimberly, Jessie, Abbie, Corey, Cassie, Kaitlyn, Jenna, Stephanie, Nick, Jarod, Toby;
7 Great-grandchildren;
Many Nieces and Nephews.
Violet will be sadly missed by all. Blessed Be Her Memory.
