Service Information

Virginia Adams, age 86, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Grand Meadows in Glencoe.

Memorial Service will be Friday, February 28, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment in the church cemetery.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Obituary

Virginia LaVonne Adams was born on August 16, 1938, in Glencoe, Minnesota, to Erwin and Mollie (Hepner) Skorpik. Virginia was baptized as an infant on September 11, 1938, by Pastor A.R. Streufert, and was later confirmed in her faith on May 25, 1952, by Pastor E.A. Schuett, both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. She received her education through the 12th grade in Silver Lake, Minnesota, and graduated with the Silver Lake High School class of 1956.

On September 26, 1959, Virginia was united in marriage to Kenneth Orest Adams by Pastor H.A. Bode at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Linda and Sandy. Virginia and Kenneth shared 61 years of marriage when Kenneth passed away on March 6, 2021.

Virginia was employed full-time in the Ag Office at Green Giant Co., Pillsbury and Seneca Foods for 42 years. After retirement, Virginia worked part-time for Crow River Eye Care.

Virginia was an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the altar guild for many years. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 5102.

Virginia enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, hosting family gatherings, and summers spent at Big Sauk Lake. She truly cherished time spent with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and visiting with friends and relatives in person and on the phone.

Virginia entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 86 years. Blessed be her memory.

Virginia is survived by her:
Daughters, Linda Eggersgluess and her husband, Randy of Glencoe, MN, and
Sandy Lindemeier and her husband, Tom of Chanhassen, MN;
Grandchildren, Adam (Kadin) Eggersgluess of Clearwater, MN, Kelcie (Clayton) Ernhart of Victoria, MN;
Great-grandchildren, Elliot Eggersgluess, Nova Eggersgluess, Silas Eggersgluess;
Sister, Marilyn (Jack) McMullin;
Sisters-in-law, Marian Splittstoeser, Carol Adams and Lois Adams;
Many other relatives and friends.

    I’m so sorry to hear about Virgina’s passing. my deepest symoathies to you and you family. I always loved doing her hair and visiting with her. She will be truly missed.

    Linda, Sandy, and family,

    Stan and I are saddened to read of Virgie’s passing. She was one special lady! I so enjoyed the times I was able to spend with her. We always had a fun time!

    I knew Virginia from Eyecare and when her dad lived at Orchard Estates. She was so friendly and happy. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. Rest in Peace.

    Oh, I am so sad to hear of Virgies passing! I worked with Virgie at Crow River Eye Care. I just loved both our Virgie and Kenny, she was such a bubbly, beautiful lady. She and Margaret were our part time wonders. Rest In Peace Virginia and enjoy all the glories of heaven because you deserve them sweet lady!

    I was lucky to get to know Virginia when her dad & my mom were neighbors at Orchard Estates. What a kind & fun lady! We always loved catching up with her & Ken when we ran into them…usually at the VFW. Happy memories!
