Service Information

Wallace “Wally” Wendorff, age 82, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 29, 2024, 11:00 A.M., at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, with interment following in the church cemetery.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Monday, January 29, 2024, from 9:00-11:00 A.M., two hours prior to the service at the church.

Obituary

Wallace “Wally” Wendorff was born April 12, 1941, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the son of William and Margaret (Schmeling) Wendorff. Wally was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on May 20, 1956,  both at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Acoma Township, Hutchinson, Minnesota. Wally received his education in Hutchinson and graduated with the Hutchinson High School class of 1958.

Wally was united in marriage to Janet Abram on July 28, 1962, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Acoma Township, Hutchinson. The couple made their home on a farm near Cedar Mills, Minnesota, and later moved to Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Mark and Kris. Wally and Janet shared over 61 years together.

Wally was employed at Green Giant in Glencoe for 34 years, retiring in 2002.  He was an active member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.

Wally enjoyed going to the lake and fishing. He enjoyed camping at “Cozy Corners” in Richmond, MN. Wally and Janet enjoyed Arizona’s warmer weather during the winter months for many years. Time spent traveling and going on bus trips was time well spent. His trip to Hawaii though, was his favorite. Wally also enjoyed reading when he had downtime, watching NASCAR, cheering on the Minnesota Twins, and attending Plato Blue Jay baseball games. Wally cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.

Wally passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 12 days. Blessed be his memory.

Wife, Janet Wendorff of Glencoe, MN;
Children, Mark Wendorff and his special friend, Kerry, and her son, Cody, of Stewart, MN,
                Kris Boesche and her husband, Brad of Plato, MN;
Grandchildren, Mitchell Boesche and Hannah Boesche;
Brother, Willard Wendorff and his wife, Renee of Hutchinson, MN;
Sister, Diane Soenen and her husband, Rich of Nolensville, TN;
Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law, Gary Abram and his wife, Joleen, of Hutchinson, MN, Joyce Tews and her husband, Glenn, of Hutchinson, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives, and Friends.

Wally was preceded in death by his Parents, William and Margaret Wendorff; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Clifford and Ella Abram; Sister, Arlys Kendall; Niece, Corina Kendall.

    So sorry to hear of the passing of Wally. Our deep sympathy to you Jan and your family. Our prayers are with you all. I have a hospital appointment on Monday morning so I can not attend the funeral but our thoughts are with you all. I remember all the good times we had back in young peoples at Acoma church. I was in a church play with Wally it was so much fun many years ago. We also missed you at our last class reunion Jan. God Bless you all!!

    We will always cherish the memories we had with him! The way he loved our dogs, always took the time to talk to us, and was just all around a great neighbor. So happy for him to be at peace and with the Lord! We are here for you Jan with whatever you need!
