Obituary

Warren “Warnie” Richard Harms was born on December 20, 1952, in Arlington, Minnesota. He was the son of Willard and Adeline (ZumBerge) Harms. Warren was baptized as an infant on January 1, 1953, by Pastor L.T. Wohlfeil and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 3, 1966, by Pastor Paul Brill, both at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. Warren attended grade school at Emanuel Lutheran School in Hamburg until the 8th Grade, graduating from there on May 29, 1966. He then attended Mayer Lutheran High School in Mayer, Minnesota, and graduated on May 28, 1970.

Warren married Jean Stelton and later divorced. Together they were blessed with three children, Shawn, Danna, and Donna. Warren then married Lana Wanke and also later divorced. Together they were blessed with two children, Crystal and Kassandra. On April 10, 1999, Warren married Joy Carlson, and together they were blessed with one son, Jordan. Warren was also blessed with a step-daughter, Jennifer Braunworth, he always took care of her like she was his own and never considered her a step-daughter, but as one of his own daughters.

Warren loved being on the farm whether it was helping his family with all the farm work, taking walks down to the creek with Kenny to watch minnows, or playing ball with his brothers and Uncle Gordon in the front yard. Warren enjoyed working for Farmhand, Young America Corporation, GMH Asphalt, and Schneider Excavating. Warren also liked to go fishing, race cars west of the church in front of a friend’s house, and go to dances in Gaylord, Minnesota. Warren also enjoyed going on many snowmobile trips with his friends and later in life he loved to go hunting with Shawn, Gary, and Brandon, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, his children, and his grandchildren, who were his greatest joys in life. He absolutely loved hearing about Shawn’s hunting stories, loved when Danna and Crystal would come and talk his ear off, loved having his quiet, simple talks with Kassie, loved when Jenny would make him a special treat, and loved watching Jordan play for the Young America Cardinals, especially when he was pitching. Warren loved spending time with his grandkids; he loved them with all of his heart.

Warren passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minnesota, at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 24 days. Blessed be his memory.

I’m so sorry for the loss of Warren Harms. He enjoyed a very good friendship with my dad Jerome Pearson. They used to work together at GMH Asphalt and they would talk about men stuff and driveways cause he was so good at it like my dad is.
