Obituary
Warren Walter Schuft was born to Walter and Zelda Schuft on April 13, 1948, in Fernando, Minnesota. He was the oldest of three children. Warren was baptized and confirmed in his faith at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Fernando.
As a child, Warren was known for having many friends, being a hard worker, and having the ability to fix just about anything.
Warren graduated from Stewart High School in 1966. He attended Mankato Area Vocational Technical Institute where he graduated with an Electrical Engineering Degree. In 1969, he began his career at 3M in Hutchinson as a Maintenance Electrician. He retired from 3M on June 1, 2009. Besides working at 3M, Warren cared for and farmed his family's land in Fernando.
In July, 1975, he married Patti Rannow. Their 20-year marriage was blest with three wonderful children: Steven, Sarah, and Mary Helen.
Warren enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He and his beloved companion, Jody Stoffels, spent much time playing cards, going for walks, hanging out with friends, and doing volunteer work. Warren was a devoted member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Warren will be remembered as a kind and gentle man, trustworthy and reliable. He was a builder, often found tinkering around in the garage at his workbench. He had a fun sense of humor, beautiful blue eyes, and a smile full of love.
Warren is survived by his
Brother, Dale Schuft and his wife, Shala;
Sister, Barbara Syverson and her husband, Larry;
Son, Steve and his wife, Amber (granddaughter Sadie and grandson Beckett);
Daughter, Sarah (granddaughter Cadence, grandson Kaden, and granddaughter Sarah Faith);
Daughter, Mary Helen (granddaughter Ainsleigh).
Warren was preceded in death by his Father Walter; Mother Zelda; Aunts and Uncles.

I am very sorry to hear of Warren’s passing! Warren and In sat next to each other in Vocational School and latter worked together at 3M. I am very proud to call him my Friend. My symphony to all of Warren’s family.
Gary and Mary Redmann says
My sincere condolences on the passing away of Warren. Warren and I attended Stewart Public School together for 12 years and became best friends. While young we played together often on the playground shooting our cap guns at each other while playing cops and robbers. After high school we went our separate ways but found time to take a trip to California with a stop in Los Vegas. He and his family would visit us a few times in Nebraska while enjoying Mary’s homemade enchiladas and watching a few episodes of Laurel and Hardy. He was always willing to help others when the need arose. We had a kind and gentle soul which we can all attest to. He will be missed by us all. FYI. God now has a great handyman at his side. God bless you all.

My Sympathy to the Schuft Family. I grew up in the Fernando area and attended the same church as Warren, namely St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Fernando. Remember the Walter Schuft family as being a kind, friendly family. Sending prayers for peace and comfort during this sad time. Again, my Sympathy.

I’m so sorry to hear that Warren, has passed away. Even though there has been years and miles between, me and Stewart Mn, I try to keep up with friends and memories. We all had big dream coming out of that graduating class, and most of us were spread to the four corners of the country. I can’t get much further East or I’ll fall into the Atlantic Ocean.

So Sorry to hear of Warren’s passing. We worked together at 3M. We spent many memorable moments discussing our years of growing up on the farm and all the fun we had. Of course, at the time of our childhood, we thought the “town kids” were the lucky ones. I will miss him!
He was my Maintenance person at 3M for years and later moved into a Supervisory role. He was a joy to work with.
Donna (Ondracek) Engelen says
My sympathies to Warren’s family. We were in the Maintenance group together at 3M. And, way back, we may have had a dance or two at the Legion or VFW:) And not that long ago we chatted at Cash Wise. It was always fun catching up. RIP Warren.
