William Schons, age 66, husband of Delores, of Hutchinson, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at his home in Hutchinson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017, 11:00 A.M., at the St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. Interment will be held at a later date.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 18, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and will continue Saturday one hour prior to the service all at the church.
A Rosary will be held Friday, August 18, 2017, 4:00 P.M., at the church lead by Sister Avis Schons.
Obituary
William “Bill” Joseph Schons was born on November 12, 1950, in Tracy, Minnesota. He was the son of Leo and M. Lucille (Cote) Schons. Bill was baptized as an infant in November of 1950 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Currie, Minnesota, and later confirmed in his faith at St. Michael Catholic Church in Madison, Minnesota. He was a graduate of the Mountain Lake High School Class of 1968. Bill later attended Jackson Vocational School where he was trained in his profession.
Bill was united in marriage to Delores Lenertz on June 13, 1970, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Fairmont and they were blessed with three children, Theresa, Jennifer and Joseph.
Bill worked as a plumber for Total Comfort Systems in Fairmont, Minnesota. He was a member of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association and also a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church for 40 years in Fairmont, Minnesota before transferring to St. Anastasia Catholic Church when he and Delores moved to Hutchinson in 2013.
Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, and wood working. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.
Bill died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, losing his battle with cancer, at the age of 66 years.
He will be dearly missed by many. Blessed be his memory.

Brothers, Ken Schons and his wife, Audrey, of Sleepy Eye, MN,
John Schons and his wife, Carlene, of Fairmont, MN;
Sisters, Alice Dudley and her husband, Charles, of Osprey, MN;
Sister Avis Schons of Stewartville, MN,
Many Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his Parents, Leo and Lucille Schons; Sisters, Elaine Ruppert and Ruth Molitor; Brother, Bernard Schons; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Ed and Mary Lenertz.
