Obituary
Veryl William Jungclaus was born on January 10, 1931, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of George and Malinda (Koentopf) Jungclaus. Veryl was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. Veryl attended grades 1-8 at the District #74 schoolhouse in rural Glencoe and graduated with the Glencoe High School class of 1948.
On June 27, 1953, Veryl was united in marriage to Marlys Joan Dammann. Veryl and Marlys made their home on a farm just outside Glencoe. In the early 1990s, Veryl and Marlys moved to town. Their marriage was blessed with three children, RaNaye, Marilee, and Brian. The couple shared over 70 years of marriage together.
Veryl was a lifelong dairy and crop farmer. He was also a Dekalb Seed Corn salesman for a number of years. After retirement, Veryl was still a fixture on the farm; assisting where he could. Just a few months ago, Veryl was able to celebrate the end of Harvest 2023 with a ride in the combine. Veryl was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and served as a deacon there. Veryl was a member of the McLeod County Holstein Association and the Minnesota Holstein Association for many years. Being a part of and supporting the Glencoe Pioneers 4-H Club was important to him.
Veryl enjoyed fishing and attending cow shows in Minnesota. He enjoyed playing cards with friends, most specifically Sheepshead. Veryl and Marlys loved dancing to Polka. Veryl cherished the time he spent with his family, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
