Service Information
Adeline A. Wellner age 96, of Sleepy Eye, formerly of Fairfax, passed away Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 at the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 6th, 11:00 A.M. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Obituary
Adeline Alma (Schroeder) Wellner was born on June 13, 1919, in Bandon Township, Renville County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Louis and Elsie (Buboltz) Schroeder. Adeline was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax. She received her education at country school District #125.
Adeline was united in marriage with Raymond J. Wellner on August 31, 1946, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax. The couple made their home and farmed in Cairo Township. They retired in 1960 and moved into Fairfax. Adeline and Raymond shared 58 years of marriage before Raymond passed away on November 30, 2004.
Adeline was a lifelong member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax.
Adeline and Ray loved spending time at their trailer by the old mill on Green Lake, near Spicer, Minnesota. They also enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Adeline’s hobbies included fishing, playing cards, shaking dice, Bingo, gardening, flowers, driving to town and cleaning her house.
When she needed assistance with her daily care, Adeline became a resident of the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye on September 29, 2010, and passed away there on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at the age of 96 years. Blessed be her memory.
Adeline is survived by her:
Special Niece, Brenda (Floyd) Marti of Sleepy Eye, MN; and other numerous Nieces, Nephews, and friends.
Adeline was preceded in death by her Parents, Louis and Elsie Schroeder; Husband, Raymond Wellner; Sisters, Evelyn Stoll and Bernice Freyholtz; and Brothers, Raymond, Roman and Norman Schroeder.
