Adeline (Harms) Klancke age 88, of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 4, 2016, 2:30 P.M. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota, with interment following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Sunday.
Obituary
Adeline Alice (ZumBerge) (Harms) Klancke was born on February 28, 1928, in Plato, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Arthur and Gertrude (Litzau) ZumBerge. Adeline was baptized as an infant on March 11, 1928, by Rev. Eyrich at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plato, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 27, 1941, by Rev. Dysterheft at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, Minnesota. She received her education at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Parochial School and graduated with the Glencoe High School Class of 1946.
On May 15, 1949, Adeline was united in marriage to Willard Harms by Rev. Schaller at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, Minnesota. Adeline and Willard made their home on Willard’s family farm and later moved into Hamburg, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with six children, Kenneth, Ronald, Warren, Dale, Galen and Karen. They shared over 43 years of marriage until Willard passed away on October 3, 1992. On May 20, 1995, Adeline was united in marriage to Lowell Klancke by Pastor Donald Andrix at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. They shared over 16 years of marriage until Lowell passed away on February 9, 2012. After Lowell’s death, Adeline made her home at Peace Villa and in 2015 moved to The Harbor both in Norwood Young America, Minnesota.
Adeline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was an active member at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota, where she sang in the choir and was also a member of the Emanuel LWML.
Adeline was a caregiver and loved having a house full of people. She enjoyed shaking dice, playing bingo and cards multiple times a week. Adeline loved embroidering, reading, listening to old time music and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. She also enjoyed her Peace Villa/Harbor family and friends. Adeline cherished the time spent visiting and telling stories to her children, grandchildren and friends.
Adeline passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 2 days.
