Obituary

Albert Henry Meyer Jr. was born on September 23, 1929, in Gaylord, Minnesota. He was the son of Albert H. and Selma (Boettcher) Meyer Sr. Albert was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. He received his education at a country school and later at Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School in Gaylord.

On June 28, 1952, Albert was united in marriage to Phyllis Pierson at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop. The couple resided on the family farm in Sibley Township, Sibley County. Albert farmed his entire life. This marriage was blessed with four children. The couple shared 52 years of marriage before Phyllis passed away on March 6, 2005.

Albert was a member of the United Church of Christ in Gaylord. He was a long time member of Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and the Gaylord Sertoma Club.

Albert loved farming, reading, tractors, trucks, trains and planes. He cherished the time he spent with his family especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

When he needed assistance with his daily care, Albert became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Winthrop on June 10, 2016, and passed away there on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at the age of 87 years. Blessed be his memory.

Great-Grandchildren, Kashton Meyer, Brielle Meyer, Calista Meyer, Hunter Meyer, Aria Meyer;
Brother, Rueben Meyer and his wife, Bonnie of Gaylord, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.

Albert was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Phyllis Meyer; and Grandson, Jason Raines.
