Obituary

Aldora Mayonne (Anderson) Martin was born June 25, 1933, in Cosmos Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, the daughter of Arthur G. and Esther (Schiro) Anderson. She was baptized as an infant at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, and confirmed in her faith there as a youth. Aldora received her education at the Litchfield Public School, and graduated with the Class of 1951.

On October 9, 1951, Aldora was united in marriage to Clarence Ervin Martin at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos.  The couple lived and farmed south of Cosmos from 1952 to 1982. They had shared 45 years of marriage when Clarence passed away on December 10, 1996.

Aldora worked with Clarence on the family farm, and she also sold Watkins products. For many years she managed Senior Dining. She was a life-long member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, where she taught Sunday School, quilted for missions, and belonged to P.L.C.W. Aldora loved gardening, growing flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed canning those vegetables, and preserving food for her family. Aldora loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

On Tuesday evening, August 29, 2017, Aldora passed away at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield, having reached the age of 84 years. Blessed be her memory.
