Alfred H. Schmeckpeper, age 91, of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Central Healthcare of Le Center in Le Center, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024, 11:00 A.M., at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, with interment following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024, one hour prior to the service, ALL at church.
Obituary
Alfred Herbert Schmeckpeper was born on June 7, 1933, in Young America Township, Carver County, Minnesota. He was the son of Herbert and Amanda (Gruenhagen) Schmeckpeper. Alfred was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America. He received his education in Norwood Young America.
In his younger years, Alfred was employed at Stanton Lumber in Young America and also worked at a nursery. He then helped his parents on the farm for many years. Alfred was a very hard worker. After his mother passed away, he did many of the farm duties alone. Milking cows, bailing hay, and cribbing corn were just some of his daily tasks.
Alfred’s faith was very important to him and is what helped him through many obstacles in his life. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America.
Alfred was a generous man who would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed going out to eat, going to fish fry’s, and spending time with friends and family. Alfred was an avid Minnesota sports fan; he enjoyed cheering on the Vikings and the Twins.
Alfred passed away at Central Healthcare of Le Center in Le Center on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the age of 91 years. Blessed be his memory.
Alfred is survived by his cousins.
Alfred was preceded in death by his Parents, Herbert and Amanda Schmeckpeper, and Aunts and Uncles.
