Alice May Pikal, age 95, of Greenleaf Township, rural Litchfield, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home.
Celebration of Life will be held in the spring with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Obituary
Alice May Pikal was born on May 27, 1929, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Reinhold and Hulda (Schmidt) Krueger. Alice received her education in Hutchinson.
On September 8, 1948, Alice was united in marriage to Wallace “Wally” Pikal at Congregational United Church of Christ Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with three children, Dale, Barb, and Lon. Alice and Wally resided in Silver Lake, Minnesota for a few years, then Hutchinson, and in 1982 they built their home on Lake Minnie-Belle near Litchfield, Minnesota. They shared 68 years of marriage prior to the passing of Wally on March 2, 2017.
Alice was a wonderful wife, mother and home-maker for her family. She also worked with her husband, Wally, at the Wally Pikal Music Store in Hutchinson. Alice retired in 1992. She was an active member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Hutchinson. She was also a member of the Banner Committee at church, Business and Professional Women, Clown Club, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Alice enjoyed drawing and painting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Alice passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home in Greenleaf Township, rural Litchfield, at the age of 95 years.

Barb Lilley and her husband, Keith of St. Francis, KS,
Lon Pikal of Litchfield, MN;
Grandchildren, Jasmine Harrington and her husband, Matthew, Roselyn Flynn and her husband, Mike, Brandy Graef;
Great-grandchildren, Jonah Harrington, William Harrington, Apollo Flynn;
Many other relatives and friends.
Alice is preceded in death by her Parents, Reinhold and Hulda Krueger; Husband, Wallace “Wally” Pikal; Sisters, Iva Kamrath, Ruth Schaefer, Irene (Frank) Schiller; Brother, Harlow Krueger.

So many fond memories of Alice with bus trips, dance jobs, stopping down at the music store to visit or just the 4 of us going out eat and laughing so hard we could barely eat! She was such a pleasant and talented lady. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Peace be with you!
