Service Information
Alno Rickert, age 97, of Brownton, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Shade Tree Retirement Center in Brownton, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017, 11:00 A.M., at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, 10:00 A.M., one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials are preferred to an Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Obituary
Alno Ida Rickert was born on September 26, 1919, in Fernando, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Gehrke) Rickheim. Alno was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth both at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Fernando. She was educated in a country school in Round Grove Township.
On September 26, 1940, Alno was united in marriage to Orlin Rickert by Pastor Bents at the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Fernando. Following their marriage, Orlin and Alno resided south of Brownton in Penn Township where they farmed and they were blessed with one son, Shannon. Alno farmed along with Orlin until they retired in October of 1983. Alno and Orlin resided in the city of Brownton since that time. Orlin passed away on November 27, 1985, and Alno continued to live in their home until June of 2011. At that time she moved into the Shade Tree Retirement Center in Brownton and has resided there since.
Alno was active in their church, Immanuel Lutheran of Brownton. Her hobbies included gardening, quilting, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Alno passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at the Shade Tree Retirement Center, at the age of 97 years.

Son, Shannon and his wife, Clea, of Worthington, MN;
Grandchildren, Michele Heino, Deborah Rickert, and David Rickert and his wife, Sharlene;
Great Grandchildren, Emily, Nathan, and Nicholas Heino, Cole and Sage Rickert;
Great Great Grandchild, Sterling Stenquist, son of Emily;
Many other relatives and friends.
Alno is preceded in death by her Parents, Herman and Minnie Rickheim; Husband, Orlin Rickert; Brothers, Marvin Rickheim, Martin Rickheim, and Hillard Rickheim; Sister, Hilda Bauer; and Great Grandchild, Jack S. Heino.
